Perini Acquires Tutor-Saliba Corporation And Names Nomi L. Castle As Chief Outside Litigation Counsel
FRAMINGHAM, Mass. – On September 8, 2008, Perini Corporation acquired Tutor-Saliba Corporation. Perini and Tutor-Saliba are considered major forces in the construction industry, as both are ranked among the largest building and heavy civil works contractors in the United States. The new company will be known as “Tutor Perini Corporation.”
Ronald N. Tutor, Chairman and CEO of Perini and the principal shareholder of Tutor-Saliba, said, “Today marks the beginning of an exciting new era for Perini, an era in which we intend to capitalize on the additional resources, personnel and expertise we are adding through this transaction to create additional value for Perini shareholders. In connection with the acquisition, Tutor Perini has named Nomi L. Castle, founder of Castle & Associates, as Chief Outside Litigation Counsel, effective January 1, 2009. Responsibilities as Chief Outside Litigation Counsel include selecting, monitoring and overseeing outside counsel for Tutor Perini Corporation and its subsidiaries throughout its global operations. Ms. Castle has practiced law for over 25 years, focusing her practice on all aspects of the construction industry including public works as well as privately owned construction projects, employment litigation, commercial disputes, and real estate issues.
