Background and Experience

Nomi L. Castle has practiced for over 30 years, with a focus on complex contract disputes on public works as well as privately owned construction projects, employment litigation, products liability, commercial disputes, and real estate issues. She has substantial experience in large and complex cases in both state and federal court and arbitrations, as well as specialized forums such as the United States Court of Federal Claims and the California Office of Administrative Hearings. She is widely recognized as a superior litigation attorney with extensive trial experience as lead counsel in jury trials, bench trials and arbitrations. Ms. Castle also handles complex business transactional matters related to business formation, negotiating and writing complex contracts, human resources and business operations; and has successfully settled hundreds of cases in mediation, many of them involving large and complex cases involving multiple parties and issues.

Ms. Castle has, for her entire 30 years as an attorney, represented the largest businesses in California and elsewhere, including many Fortune 500 companies. Ms. Castle has represented many large, public and private companies, such as the Tutor-Saliba Corporation, Hollywood Park Race Track, Perini Corporation, American Constructors, Inc., Taisei Construction Corporation, Rudolph and Sletten, Pall Corporation and various insurance carriers; and since 2009, has acted as Chief Litigation Counsel for Tutor Perini Corporation with responsibilities for Tutor Perini Corporation’s wholly owned subsidiaries as well.  Ms. Castle has also represented smaller businesses and individuals in various disputes and transactional work.


Ms. Castle has successfully tried numerous cases to verdict involving:
• Complex contract disputes;
• Business disputes involving allegations of fraud and other tort causes of action;
• Employment (race, age, and sexual harassment defense);
• Construction (fraud, RICO, False Claims Act, breach of contract, unfair business competition);
• OSHA regulations, environmental law;
• Construction defect (including construction products); and
• Insurance bad faith.

Ms. Castle has also taught Business Law, Advanced Real Property law and other legal courses at the Los Angeles Community College and has served as Chairman of the Contracts/Real Property Section of the Public Law Section of the State Bar of California, in addition to speaking at business and industry events on a variety of legal issues.
